It all began over nineteen years ago when a design company was set up to produce unique end tackle for the specimen angler, this was when Rig Marole was created. With a core team of mainly carp anglers, we quickly built a following aimed at top end customers who wanted better quality end tackle than was available at that time.
Within a ten year period Rig Marole products had helped to catch some of the biggest fish in the UK including all the Yateley Car Park carp (some caught up to four times). Also catching the Burfield Common, Fat Lady (St Ives), Snake pit Common, Conningbrooks Two Tone and numerous big carp from The Manor (Essex) and the list goes on. At this stage, we had begun to make an impact and were hungry to continue.
Unfortunately, for one of the Directors, things took a set back and for health reasons the company was sold. Nigel Harris stayed partly involved, his time was limited and new development was not as prolific for some time. With the next turn of events after three and a half years, the owners (Marukyu) sold Rig Marole back to Nigel and Business Partner John Paine who both were very enthusiastic with the great potential of the brand.
For Nigel, John plays a key part in the running of the company with his wealth of knowledge in sales, design and decades of fishing experience to mention a few attributes. For John, Nigel’s many years of experience with Rig Marole and his innovative ability to design high quality end tackle have been crucial to the partnership.
Nigel and John started trading again late February 2018 and since that time there have been a lot of changes including some new key Media team, Consultants and Promo team members who have been paramount to brand awareness.
Watch this space for more innovation (not copies) coming to shops later this year/early 2019 which we think will interest you…
